Let’s Vibe: Introducing W PRESENTS

Let’s Vibe: Introducing W PRESENTS

Our brand new concert series–which showcases rising talent in the electronic music world–kicked off in Toronto this spring. It’s going global.

From the blue-lit Living Room inside W Toronto, Los Angeles-born musician Channel Tres took to the spotlight in a crystal-studded sheer top and mod, 1970’s-era glasses. Blending Detroit techno, Chicago house and West Coast hip hop styles into a unique–and highly danceable–sound, Tres, with undeniable stage presence, tore it up for a sold out crowd that moved and grooved in the sonic moment. Meet: The very first ever W PRESENTS.

W PRESENTS is a traveling live electronic showcase series featuring innovative artists that have been selected by LP Giobbi (Leah Chisholm), our Global Director of Music. (If you didn’t know: Music is a core component in everything we do at W.)

The series is bringing live music back to our iconic Living Rooms (our lobby lounges, found portfolio-wide), with Toronto as its launchpad.

W PRESENTS will travel to Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America in 2023, along with other North American stops. Stop two, on April 22nd, saw W Seattle hosting DJ_Dave, a NYC-based experimental electronic-pop artist, DJ, and producer, who creates her music using computer code. On May 11, W Nashville welcomed Neil Frances, the indie-electro Los Angeleno duo.

Each and every performer comes at Giobbi’s recommendation and, in fact, many are part of her FEMME HOUSE organization, which is a collective that prides itself on creating equitable opportunities for women and gender-expansive individuals in the music industry.

Ultimately, we created W PRESENTS to give a platform and position to diverse, rising talents in the electronic music world. To celebrate not only skill but also self–the freedom to be and to grow, as sounded through decks and subwoofers and good times.

There’s a lot to look forward too, coming up. Between Philadelphia, Aspen and Montreal alone, we’ll feature DJ_Dave once again, and Aluna. And much, more more.
